I have a problem that I'm grateful to have. So after be a valet Parker for 1 year, I decided it was time to change companies. I just submitted my 2 weeks notice at my current company because now I have to choose between 2 valet companies that want to hire me.

Company 1: they're a startup company. They get all their business through an app; they're like uber but for valet parking. The pay is $14/hour plus a bonus for every car I drive. I'm gonna get a bunch of free stuff on the side if I decide to go with them. Everybody that works there seems pretty cool, which helps when your standing around for 8 hours a day talking about cars. Lastly, this is my first experience with a start up company. I work In San Francisco, and I'm certain that I'll be working with more start ups after I graduate from college.

Company 2: they're a well established company. They run parking lots, garages, restaurants, and hotels valets in SF. The starting pay won't be as high, but I feel like I'll make more $ in tips because I'll be serving a ton of customers. They're unionized as well; if I was a full time employee, this would be a no brainer. But I don't want to be doing this forever.

Here's a picture from my recent travels to Asia. I should really do a photo dump with all the cars I took pictures of.

It sounds like company number one would be better for a part timer, and plus you have the added bonus of networking while you work. Good luck with the new job either way.

Go for #1, it'll open up more opportunities in the future if they expand into a bigger company. In 20 years they could be a major giant corporation, and since you started there so early, you'd be in upper management making millions by then.

I'd choose door #1

Have to agree with your logic there. Worst case, if this other company is a major player they'll still have job openings later in case the startup folds.

How old are you? If you're between 18-23, go with company #1. Enjoy getting wrapped up in something new and do your part in growing the brand.

Number 1 - Just don't burn your current bride. Swimming back if it folds sucks.
